Usability
1 Web site usability summary
In simple terms it relates to the ease-of-use, pleasure-of-use and outcome-of-use experience.
Good websites are absolutely user focused. They have an interesting appearance (interface), easy navigation throughout, quick loading pages, to the point information and by all that deliver the user the expected experience. That experience can be further enhanced by good quality interactive content.
2 Identification and/or usage within the development of a web site lifecycle
As any other organism, a website travels through its phases from development to closure. Constant validations and updates are required to keep a site ‘alive’. Beyond that, changing a site in an ‘organic flow’ can enhance the user experience, satisfaction and interaction; all resulting towards a better result for the provider.
3 Benefits & beneficiaries of conducting usability tests
The ultimate beneficiaries are all web users including web developers. A constant feedback process should ensure greater care & sophistication in the development stages resulting in better user experience and satisfaction.
